Seamprufe Siren! 1940s Blue Rayon Crepe-De-Chine Bias Slip~ Sz 38 (#1516)
This beautiful rayon slip was made during the 1940s war years, and it’s in excellent, gently-worn condition. The slip is located in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie, and you will find it displayed in the Slips and Bridal Trousseau categories. We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality possible. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
Except for the pale-blue colour, this slip is identical to the pink “Seamprufe Siren” slip listed nearby! This slip bears a remnant of the well-known Seamprufe label, and the luscious rayon crepe-de-chine fabric is in beautiful condition. The label indicates a (size) “40”, but we measured 38 inches around the bust. The slip is really a “show-off” slip, and would work beautifully under a sheer blouse or dress. Several appliquéd flower bells adorn the lace panels that go all the way around the bodice.
This is one of the typical “war years” slips, where lengths were somewhat below the knee. On our 5’ – 10” ‘Gloria’ model, the hem goes down to Gloria’s upper-calf… about 45 inches long. On this slip there are adjusting “sliders” for the self-fabric shoulder straps.
Whether worn by itself – to simply feel good in(!), or under a sheer dress, this slip will be a joy to YOU, the fortunate buyer and the Show-off Lady of your own Life!
