We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional new/old stock piece, most of our items have been gently worn by a previous owner. By definition, vintage means old, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original condition.
This gown is nearly identical to the our listing of the “Irresistible Lady Duff” nightgown, (item #1427). Both gowns are styled the same – both have ‘full-sweep’ - half-circle skirts. Both gowns are made of rayon, but the weave of this rayon is a luminous crepe-de-chine fabric. This nightgown features a bodice that is cut to the waist on both sides and in the back. The center front is closed (or opened) with two self-fabric bows.
The gown is in excellent condition with only a couple of tiny holes… both of which are buried in the folds of the huge skirt. The diamond-shaped midriff piece extends into the very-long and wide waist ties. The maker’s label is Lady Duff. Lady Duff (Gordon) was a real person, and along with her husband, she was a rescued passenger from the steamship Titanic sinking in 1912.
The gown has minor ‘fuzz’ on the pinked seam allowances, and there are no stains that we could find. On our in-house Gloria model, the gown drapes almost to her ankles . The gown is definitely of luminous quality… just perfect for YOU, the Goddess of your own Boudoir Life!
