This pretty silk charmeuse slip dates from the mid-1940s, and is one of a select group of Fischer beauties in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this one!), most of our stock has been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.

This slip is one of the most familiar of Fischer’s many slip designs… actually, it is a classique design! The slip has the rarely-seen lace shoulder straps, and the 3-1/2 inches-wide lace panels go all the way around the back. The slip has never been worn, and a few fold-lines remain from long-time storage. (Easily steamed out.) The silk charmeuse fabric is the best available… far better than most silks on today’s market. The bottom of the skirt flares out as much as many full-length nightgowns. The pristine Fischer Heavenly Silk Lingerie label is placed under the left armhole, and we have included a scanned image of this slip in a 1944 Fischer ad.

The stated measurements are those of the slip itself, and your own body measurements should be slightly less.
