We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
The gown features plunging necklines, both front and back. It has rows and circles of satin ‘hearts’ appliquéd onto the lace bodice. Circles of satin ‘hearts’ are also appliquéd onto the lace legs of the panty. The bias-cut skirt is ‘trained’, with the back length trailing on the floor… 68 inches from the shoulders.
We found no maker’s label, as we believe that both gown and panty were custom-made to the order of one person. The gown is an especially close fit around the waist, (27 inches-max), so please be sure that your own body measurements are less than the stated measurements of the gown.
The fabric is a heavy, crepe-back satin, and it appears to be without holes or stains. We think the basic fiber is silk, but with French or hand-overcast seams throughout, there was no way we could ascertain fiber composition for sure.
This beautiful gown is modeled by our 5’ – 10” Gloria, and the front of the nightgown just grazes the tops of her toes… with the back skirt trailing on the floor! This gown and panty set will be a joy to wear, and fit for a Star – YOU – the Leading Star of your own life!
