Silver Screen Loungerie offers vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we occasionally find a “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by a previous or original owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring these pieces, as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This beautiful nightgown dates from the 1930s, and is made from an especially fine silk charmeuse fabric, with beautiful lace enhancing the deeply-cut V neckline. It is one the most figure-revealing nightgowns that we’ve ever had, and you will find this beauty in both the Richard’s Collection and Nightgowns departments. This gown has no maker’s label, but may have been made by the legendary designer, Yolande. All the long seams are tiny ‘French’ seams, and the armholes are bound with self-fabric. There is a strong art deco “statement” here – with the V neckline meeting the spire-point of the empire waist seam. (This seam is hand-overcast to prevent raveling.)
On our 5’ – 10” ‘Gloria’ model, the gown is 61 inches long… falling to just below her ankles. As always, the stated measurements are those of the garment itself. Your own body measurements should be less.
