This wonderful silk charmeuse nightgown dates from the late-1940s, (just after WW-2), and is one of the select group of Fischer beauties in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie! We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, like this one, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
The pictures and the Fischer “Mermaid” label tell most of the story of this delicious piece! The gown comes complete with its original golden “Fischer Heavenly Silk Lingerie” hang tag, which has care instructions on the reverse side. There is also an “ILGWU” (International Ladies Garment Workers Union) label adjacent to the Fischer label.
The gown has wonderful proportions – ranging from a size 36+ bodice - through a small-ish 33-inch waist, and on down to the lace-trimmed hem 59-1/2 inches from the shoulder! Just be sure that your own body measurements are slightly less than the crosswise measurements of the gown.
Although this gown is “new/old stock”, we did find just one teeny-tiny pinhole buried in the soft folds of the lower skirt. About 3 super-faint soil streaks (also in the lower skirt) will be hand-laundered out before the gown is sold.
On our 5’ – 11” ‘Gloria’ model, the gown drapes to even with her ankles. This is one very-special Fischer nightgown, and it will be a joy to YOU, the most-fortunate buyer, and the Star of your own Life!
