We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this set), most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This set was custom-made for that world-famous store, Neiman Marcus. “NM” is based in Dallas, but has many branch stores throughout the USA. Much of their fab lingerie items are made in Hong Kong, to order, by NM’s own designers. In this set, no effort has been spared to produce a stunning hi-end ensemble – using the finest silk satin available on today’s market! The silk fabric is of sumptuous quality, and feels so exotic against the skin… a perfect gift for a bride-to-be, or for an anniversary, or any other very-special occasion!
Noted details include the bias-cut slip-gown covered by the billowy peignoir-robe. The back of the robe has full-length knife pleats, and it has 3/8” silk-covered shoulder pads - which can be removed for cleaning. A detachable, self-fabric belt is provided, but there are no belt loops at the sides. The robe also has pockets in both side seams, and the sleeves are closed with button & loop fasteners.
There are no holes and no stains anywhere in the many yards of silk satin fabric! This beautiful ensemble is modeled by our 5’ – 10” Gloria, and the 61-1/2” nightgown ends just below her ankles. As is “traditional”, the peignoir-coat is about 5 inches shorter than the nightgown.
