We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this set), most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This set was custom-made “by William Marcus Creations”, and every effort was made to produce a most luxurious ensemble! Attention to construction and details is very-evident, and we especially took notice of the 18 silk-covered ball buttons in the robe - each perfectly matched to its satin button-loop! The bodice of the nightgown has lace panels framing the V-neckline, but the bodice of the robe is all-around fabulous lace! We note also the wide, balloon-shaped sleeves in the robe. Other details include silk-covered shoulder pads, and a left-side zipper for the nightgown.
With the minute exception of the tiniest hole in the lace of the robe, the entire set is in excellent-plus condition. The hole in the lace is right next to the back-waist seam of the robe, and it simply cannot be seen. There are no holes and no stains anywhere in the many yards of silk satin fabric.
This beautiful ensemble is modeled by our 5’ – 11” Gloria, and the nightgown just grazes the tops of her toes! The peignoir-coat is about 5 inches shorter than the nightgown.
