Daring 1930s! Pin-tucked Silk Charmeuse Bias Nightgown Sz 36-38 (#1434)

This wonderful 1930s nightgown has a pin-tucked chiffon bodice, and it is one of the most beautiful silk nightgowns that we have ever seen! This beauty is listed in both the Bridal Trousseau and the Richard’s Collection categories.

We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the items – as much as possible, to their original beauty

There are no labels in this gown, so we believe it was made by a highly-skilled dressmaker. The gown is really one-of-a-kind, as we’ve never seen another like it. Both front and back bodice sections are nearly identical – the only difference being in the zig-zag seaming around the waist area. As shown in the pictures, the front of the gown has an inverted V in the middle. The gown comes with a long, self-fabric sash, but we forgot to include it in the pictures.

Note how the pin tucking ends just short of the neckline. This technique gives the neckline a wavy lettuce-like appearance. There is no cross-wise waist seam.

The gown is deeply cut, and exposes much skin over and between the breasts. It is certainly not a gown that could be worn outside the home!
