This pretty silk charmeuse slip dates from the late 1940s, and is one of a select group of Fischer beauties in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie. We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this one!), most of our stock has been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This slip is one of the most familiar of Fischer’s many slip designs… actually, it is a classique design! The slip has the rarely-seen lace shoulder straps, and the 3-1/2 inches-wide lace panels go all the way around the back. The slip has never been worn, but it has been hand-laundered to remove dust and storage folds. A few wrinkles remain, but they will be steamed out prior to shipment.
The very-collectible gold “mermaid” hang tag is included, and the reverse side gives care instructions. The silk charmeuse fabric is the best available… far better than most silks on today’s market. The bottom of the skirt flares out as much as many full-length nightgowns. The Fischer Heavenly Silk lingerie label is placed under the left armhole.
The stated measurements are those of the slip itself, and your own body measurements should be slightly less.
