We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this one!), most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible – to their original beauty.
This gown bears the label, “WB”, which are the initials of “Weisman Bros.”, and the fabric is that marvelous blend of Bemberg rayon and silk. Blending was on the order of 5 parts silk to 1 part rayon. The label indicates a “Size 36”, but as the armholes are wide-open, sizes 34 to 38 are easily accommodated. As this gown was received in perfect condition, we did just a quick pressing before photography. The fortunate buyer will receive this beautiful gown complete with the storage folds as shown in the pictures!
Our “in-house” model is named ‘Gloria’, and she takes great delight in showing off in this gown! The gown has deep armholes that open up towards the back. It can be worn by almost anyone in the size 34 to 38 range. As always, the stated measurements are those of the garment itself, and your own body measurements should be slightly less.
