This frivolous silk charmeuse teddy dates from the late 1920s, and is one of the sexiest “frillies” in Richard’s New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie! We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This teddy is in mint-unworn condition, with no flaws found anywhere in the garment. It appears to have been made just yesterday! Both the French lace and silk charmeuse fabric are in mint condition… far better than the same fabrics found in today’s market.
Gloria is the name of our in house Super Model, and this teddy is a perfect fit for her!
This is a pullover style teddy, with two mother-of-pearl buttons securing the front and back flap-piece between the legs. The shoulder straps do not have “slider” adjustments, and are overly long. This allows for a custom alteration of the strap length by the new owner. With the straps at their full-length, the shoulder to centre-flap length is a comfortable 33 inches. (Note that altering the straps will result a longer or shorter shoulder-to-hem length.) There are no waist ties, as the bias-cut provides all the shaping for a close fit around the body. We rarely see these old pieces in such beautiful condition, but this is one of the best! This teddy is destined to be worn by a Star… the Star of her own Boudoir!
