This pretty silk charmeuse slip dates from the mid-1930s, and is one of a select group of Fischer beauties in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie. We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality possible. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible – to their original beauty.
This slip is the most familiar of Fischer’s slip designs, and it has the rarely-seen lace shoulder straps. The 3-1/2 inches-wide lace panels go all the way around the back, and would look just perfect under sheer summer blouses and dresses! The hem is finished with the same lace trim as in the shoulder straps.
The slip is in gently-worn condition, with no flaws that we could find. The “Made by Fischer Pure Silk” label is earlier than the labels with the little mermaid logo, and is placed under the left armhole. On our 5’ – 11” Gloria model, the slip falls to her mid-calf area. The stated measurements are those of the slip itself, and your own body measurements should be less.
This slip-gown is so pretty, that if you dare, it could also be worn by itself as a sexy summer dress, or flared out over a pair of tight-fitting jeans!
