This is one of the most brilliant satin nightgowns that we’ve ever seen, and it is part of Richard’s fabulous collection, housed in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Lingerie.
Not only is the colour so striking, but we’re smitten by that marvelous sweeping skirt! It’s 176 inches in circumference… describing a large half-circle when laid out flat.
The gown is in excellent condition, and shows little sign of previous wear.
Here are some cautionary notes to the new owner while wearing this gown… Whilst traveling aboard the fabled Orient Express Train – and while passing between carriages, please hold the hem high between the thumb and middle finger of your left hand. This leaves your right hand free to operate the door handles. A similar procedure can be employed while ascending the Grand Staircase of the Metropolitan Opera House in New York. …The same for the great Marble Staircase in the Wiener Staatsoper.
The fabric is a heavy rayon crepe-backed satin, which has a fabulous drape, and also flairs out for a glorious “sweep” behind you. Note that the self-fabric shoulder straps (they are doubled) are extra long. Gloria knotted them at the top of her shoulders. The buyer can do the same, or can tuck and stitch the extra lengths inside the back bodice.
As worn by our 5’ – 11” Gloria, the gown falls 61 inches to her ankles. Longer, if the shoulder “knots” are let out.
The gown is truly one of the most exciting that Gloria has ever worn, and we believe it will be just as exciting on YOU – the Leading Lady of your Life!
