We, at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality possible. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care to restore items – as much as possible – to their original beauty.
This beautiful 3-piece silk pyjama set is one of the most rare pieces that seems to have slipped through the cracks of time! It has come down to us as that most-rare “occasional new/old stock piece”! The set is in mint, never worn condition, and still bears the price tags of the long-closed Julius Garfinckel store in Paris and in Washington! Can you believe that the original price was $15.00… later marked down twice to $7.95?!
All is perfect in all three pieces of the set. The fabric is a thin silk crepe type, similar to today’s silk crepe-de-chine fabrics.
The top features a silk “floweret”… still puffy after all these years. Cotton ecru lace trims all edges, and there are three pintucks just below the flowerlet. All seams are French-seamed, and there is no seam in the body of the top. The pant waist is partially elasticized, and can stretch from 24 to 36 inches in circumference.
This superb piece will be a joy to own and wear, and fit for a Star – YOU – the Leading Lady of your Life!
