(SOLD) Ravishing Radcliffe! Ca. 30s 3-Piece Rayon Satin Boudoir Ensemble Sz, 36-38 (#1201)
Please do NOT attempt to purchase, as this item has been SOLD. This item is viewable for reference purposes, and for a short time only.
This robe, bed jacket and nightgown ensemble dates from the late 1930s. It is made of the softest rayon charmeuse-satin fabric available at that time. This is the one of the most colourful peignoir sets that we’ve ever had, and it is located in the New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie! All three pieces are in excellent condition, and have no flaws that we could find. You will find this beauty in both the “Peignoir Sets” and “Richard’s Collection” departments. We, at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality possible. While we manage find an occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. Almost by definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care to restore items – as much as possible – to their original beauty.
This 3-piece satin peignoir set is a wonderful example of a previously owned piece that that has been lovingly restored. The pinked seam allowances show moderate wear, but there are no holes and no stains throughout all pieces of the set. Although the bed jacket can be worn under the robe, we think that the gown with bed jacket, or the gown with robe should be worn at any one time. Your choice!
The colours are brilliant, and the charmeuse-satin has a most-delightful feel against the skin. The “Tailored By Radcliffe” label is still intact, but exists only on the back neckline of the robe. A few size tags remain, but they are faded and unreadable. Although made many years ago, this set is in great wearable condition for today’s modern woman!
This magnificent ensemble will be a joy to wear and fit for a Star – YOU – the Leading Lady of your life!
