This “over-the-top” nightgown dates from the 1930s, and is made of the finest silk and lace fabrics. It is the one of the most stunning nightgowns that we’ve had, and it is now in the New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie! The gown is in mint – unworn condition, and has no flaws that we could find. You will find this beauty in both the “Bridal “Trousseau” and “Richard’s Collection” departments. Click on one of the 'Gloria' models to explore our special Boutiques!
The gown was custom-made in France, and in the same location of our currently-listed ‘French Couture’ Silk Nightgown and Bed jacket set. The importing store was I. Magnin, a long-gone high fashion and specialty goods store located in San Francisco.
This gown exemplifies the best of French couture lingerie made in the 1930s! The finest lace and silk were used, and the gown was expertly constructed by hand. The lace bodice goes all the way around, and sits atop a half-circle skirt of semi-sheer silk crepe-chiffon. The gown is extra-long at 64 inches, and at the hem, the sirt “sweeps” out to 170 inches in circumference!
The bust and waist measurements are fairly “snug” at 36 and 32 inches, respectively, so be sure your own body measurements are less.
There is not a single flaw that we could find, as long-term storage conditions must have been perfect.
The gown will be a joy to the lucky buyer, ready to wear, and fit for a Star – YOU – the Leading Lady of your life!
