Godfried Satin! 1940s New-Old Stock Long-Sleeve Rayon Nightgown Sz 40
This is one of several long-sleeved nightgown treasures…. all to be listed soon in both the “Bridal Trousseau” and “Richard’s Collection” departments. Click on one of the 'Gloria' models to find our special Boutiques!
’Miss Godfried’ is a beautifully-made gown that has never-before been worn. It was made in the 1940s, and is in mint-perfect condition. The “Styled By Godfried” label appears next to the reclining view, but we observed that the “38” understates the actual bust measurement. It is actually 40 inches around the fullest part of the bust. The sleeves are slightly-less than full-length, and are elasticized at the flounce-trimmed ends. (The sleeves can be pushed up.)
The centre bodice opens up to the waist, (for more ‘décolletage’?), but we think the gown looks more demure and more sexy when buttoned up. The bias-cut skirt is extra-long at 59 inches, and has that desirable “swish and swirl” about the ankles. All edges are finished with sheer net, making this one of most feminine gowns that we’ve ever seen.
